Kathaline (Betty) Lefton
Mrs. Raymond (Betty) Lefton, 67, 406 Maple St., Attica, died
at Home Hospital, Lafayette, Monday, July 21, at 5:54 a.m., having been ill
four years, seriously ill one month.
She was born in Warren County, May 11, 1919, the daughter of
Carl and Mabel Kiser Routzahn. She formerly lived in West Lebanon and Danville,
Ill. And had been a resident of Attica since 1938. She was married July 24,
1938, in West Lebanon to Raymond Lefton, who survives.
She was a graduate of West Lebanon High School and Danville
Business College and was a former leading golfer and bowler in the area. She was a member
of the First Unied
Methodist church of Attica and Business and Professional Women.
Surviving, besides her husband, are one daughter, Mrs. Jerry
(Vicki) Bonham, Arlington, Va.,; one son, Col. Jerry Dean Lefton, O'Fallon,
Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Barbara) ransom, West Lebanon; Mrs. Bernard
(Joan) Bartlett, Attica; one brother, Billy Joe Routzahn, Attica, and two
grandchildren, Cynthia Lefton and David Lefton.
Funeral services were held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica,
Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. James Boudouris officiating. Burial was in Riverside
Cemetery, Attica.
