Crawfordsville Daily Journal Nov 29, 1927 p 1 -- Waynetown, Nov 29 - Samuel R. Ellis
passed away early Tuesday morning at the hoem of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Hudson, west of
Mt. Zion after one week's illness with pneumonia. Mr. Ellis had been in ill health for
the past several months but his condition was considered no worse until he was stricken
about a week ago. The deceased is a former resident of Waynetown. He was born Sept 3,
1856, near Hillsboro, was the son of Thomas and Sarah Frazier Ellis. He was united in
marriage to Minnie R. Riley April 18, 1886, has spent his entire life in Fountain and
Montgomery coutnies and is a member of the Ridge Farm Christian Church. the body was taken
to the home of his son, Virgil Ellis at Hillsboro Tuesday morning and funeral services
will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock at Hillsboro Methodist Church with Rev.
John servies of Crawfordsville in charge. Interment will take place at Waynetown
Cemetery. The deceased is survived by his wife, three sons, Chauncey of Waynetown, Virgil
of Hillsboro and George of Waveland; two daughters, Mrs. Estella Keeling of Indianapolis
and Mrs. Rosa Hudson of near Crawfordsville and 8 grandchildren.
