Leonard C. Von Berg
Leonard Charles Von Berg, 67, 1216 E. Fairchild, Danville,
Ill., died at 10:37 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at the Veterans Administration
Medical Center.
He was born June 9, 1919 in Danville, the son of William and
Minnie Wahlfeldt Von Berg. He married Wanda Morton on May 5, 1956, in
Champaign. She survives.
He retired from General Electric in 1975, after working
there 25 years. After retiring, he owned and operated Baron's in Cissna Parl,
Ill., and later the L and N Tap in Danville. He was a member of the Immanuel
Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 210 and Elks Lodge 332.
Surviving, besides his wife, are three sons, Lynn and Larry,
both of Indianapolis, and Luke, Martinez, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Linda)
Lawson, Williamport and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a
daughter, a son and his parents.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sunset
Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Kleimola officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park
with military services conducted
by American Legion Post 210.
