Crawfordsville Journal Review 6 August 1962 - Wallace, Ind - Herschel Shuler, 74 died at
10 a.m. Saturday Aug 4, 1962 at his home in Wallace. He had been ill one month. Born July
16, 1888 near Wallace, he was the son of Charles and Maranda Leonard Shuler. He was
married June 2, 1939 at Covington to Sybil Crowder who survives. He had been a life
resident of the community and was a carpenter and laborer. He was a member of the Freedom
Christian Church. Other survivors include a stepson, Donald Crowder; a brother, Glen
Schuler and two sisters, Mrs. Ada Cory and Mrs. Ruby Philpott. He also was preceded in
death by a brother, Eston. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Freedom Christian
Church. The Rev. John R. Servies will officiate. Burial will be in Harveysburg Fraternal
Cemetery near Kingman. The body is at the family residence. The Servies Funeral Home of
Waynetown is in charge.
