Richard
E. "Jack" Kennedy, 64, 1400 Morton St., Lafayette, died Saturday
morning, Sept. 6, at his residence. Death was sudden and unexpected from an
apparent heart attack. He was born Oct. 30, 1921, in West Lafayette, the son of
James H. and Cora M. Carr Kennedy. He never married. He lived in Danville, Ill.
before moving to Lafayette in 1966. He served a career of 20 years with the
U.S. Army. For he past 18 years, he worked at the Cary Quad building at Purdue
University. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are
two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Bryan, Lafayette, with whom he made his home, and Mrs.
Helen Allen, West Lebanon. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a
sister. A brother, George, died July 14. Funeral services will be held at 2
p.m. today (Tuesday) at the Fisher Funeral Home, West Lebanon, with the Rev.
John Buckley officiating. Burial will be in West Lebanon Cemetery with military
