Funeral services for D. Lonnie Keller, 82 of Potomac, Ill, rural route, a native of
Fountain County and father of Herschel Keller of Covington, who died at 4 p.m. Thursday
June 18 were held 2 p.m. Sunday at Lanham Funeral Home in Potomac. The Rev. Robert
Teagarden officiated and burial in Lower Mound Cemetery, south of Covington. Mr. Keller
died in Lakeview Memorial Hospital at Danville, Ill where he had been a patient two days.
He had been in ill health a year. He was born November 8, 1881, near Wallace, the son of
Jack and Cynthia J. Keller. He was first married in 1904 to Esta McKee, who preceded him
in death. Surviving from this marriage are twin sons, Herschel of Covington and Herley of
West Lebanon. A daughter from this marriage preceded him in death. Mr. Keller was
married Oct 19, 1942 to Carrie Knight of Potomac Rt, who survives. He farmed in the
Wallace and Covington areas until 1942 when he moved to the Potomac area. He was a member
of Number 10 Church. Surviving in addition to his wife and sons are: six grandchildren,
10 great grandchildren, one stepson, Paul Knight of Armstrong, Ill; one stepdaughter Mrs.
Willa Givens at home and four step grandchildren.
