Crawfordsville Journal Review, 28-Apr-1964, 7: 2- Mrs. Lela Willett, Hillsboro, Dies At
Home At Age 57- HILLSBORO- Mrs. Lela Ovelia Willett, 57, was found dead in bed at her home
on a farm just north of Hillsboro Friday morning by her husband, Ivan Willett. It was
reported that Mrs. Willette had complained of pains in her chest a few days before her
death. Ralph Nelson, Fountain County coroner, reported that Mrs. Willett had probably died
about midnight. Mr. and Mrs. Willette were married on March 19, 1938, and the couple had
lived their entire married life on the farm north of Hillsboro. Mrs. Willett was a member
of the United Brethren Church of Attica. Born in Terre Haute on Sept. 3, 1906, she was the
daughter of Edward and Anna Calton McFadden. Survivors include the husband; an adopted
daugther, Mrs. Jane Ross of Crawfordsville; three grandchildren; a step-mother, Mrs. Eve
McFadden of Danville, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Henthorn of Attica and Mrs.
Cleo Fairchild of Terre Haute. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the
Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the
funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.
