WAYNETOWN WOMAN'S DEATH IS CAUSED BY ABSCESS OF STOMACH- Mrs. Phoebe Wert, age 67,
died yesterday morning at 3:30 o'clock at the Culver Union Hospital of an abscess of
the stomach, which had caused her serious illness for the last four weeks. She underwent
an operation Monday. Her home was in Waynetown. The deceased was born on January 28, 1855,
near Wallace, where she spent practically all of her life. She was the daughter of Peter
and Eliza Guntle Clodfelter. About forty-five years ago, she married Samuel Neese. Mr.
Neese died thirty-nine years ago, and she married John Wert. Surviving are her two
daughter, Mrs. Eva Moore, of Waynetown, and Mrs. Edith Williams, of Champaign, Ill.; one
son, Ira Neese, of Waukesha, Wis.; one sister, Mrs. Susanna Sellee, of Hillsboro; eight
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the
Methodist Church
in Waynetown Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with burial in the Masonic Cemetery. Rev.
Clearwater will be in charge.
