Journal Review 10-Jan-1962 4- Robert Kremer Dies After Long Years Of Illness-
Robert M. Kremer, 79, died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Small Nursing Home,
Waynetown, where he had been a patient for three months. He had been ill for
four years. Mr. Kremer was born Aug. 8, 1882, at Wallace, the son of Jacob and
Martha Smith Kremer. On June 16, 1923, he married Mae Walp Phillips at
Lafayette. He was a member of the U. S. Coast Guard from 1904 to 1907. He came
to Crawfordsville upon his release and settled on the Oak Hill Road, where he
maintained his residence at his death. Mr. Kremer was a member of St. Bernard’s
Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mae; two step-sons, Judson
Phillips of Rt. 4, and Louis Phillips of Otterbein; a sister, Rebecca Miller of
Crawfordsville; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by a son, two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will
be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church. Rev. Henry F. Ward will
officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. A rosary service will be
conducted at the Darwin Servies Funeral Home at Waynetown at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.
