Tuesday- HILLSBORO- Mrs. Iva Hightower, 75, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday in Culver Hospital
at Crawfordsville where she had been a patient since last Friday evening. She
was born Nov. 29, 1887, at Wingate, a daughter of V. Y. and Mary Winescott
Kennedy. She married Thomas Hightower Oc. 7, 1908. Mr. and Mrs. Hightower
farmed in the Hillsboro area from 1921 until their retirement 10 years ago. Mrs.
Hightower was a member of the Prairie Chapel Church, Fern Chapter OES and
Triple F. Club of Hillsboro and Rebekah Lodge of Waynetown. Survivors include
her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Furr of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Mary Snyder
of Waynetown; two brothers, Van Kennedy of Waynetown and Gould Kennedy of
Wingate; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Chadwick of Crawfordsville and two
grandchildren, Richard Snyder of Williamsport and Miss Mary Furr of
Crawfordsville. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Crumley Funeral Home
here with Rev. Orval Woody of Whitestown officiating. Burial will be in Rose
Hill Cemetery here. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home Monday
afternoon and evening.
