Crawfordsville Journal Review 30-Nov-1962 3- Myrtle Bowerman, Age 83, Of Alamo, Dies In
Hospital- ALAMO- Mrs. Myrtle Ida Bowerman, 83, lifetime resident of the Alamo vicinity,
died Friday morning at 5 o’clock in Culver Hospital. She was admitted to the hospital Oct.
5 with a broken hip. Death was due to heart failure. Mrs. Bowerman was born Jan. 14, 1879,
in Fountain County. Her parents were Hiram and Mary Krout Roberts. She was married to John
Bowerman at Alamo on Nov. 4, 1897. She was a member of the Yountsville Methodist Church.
Her schooling was received in Fountain County. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Bowerman
of Alamo who is the Waynetown High School basketball coach and John Bowerman of
Crawfordsville, officers of the First National Bank & Trust Co.; two daughters, Mrs.
Anne E. Brown and Mrs. Ida Selby of Alamo; a sister, Mrs. Ransom McKee of Veedersburg; a
stepmother, Mrs. Ada Roberts of Veedersburg, and 10 grandchildren and 7
great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at
2 p.m. Sunday, at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Rev. Clarence Loveland of
Crawfordsville and Rev. Morris Finch of the Alamo Christian Church will officiate. Burial
will be in the Alamo Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
