At 58- HILLSBORO- Nile Holycross, 58, who resided on a farm near here, died at 10 a.m.
Tuesday in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital at Lafayette. He was admitted to the hospital at 6
p.m. Monday after suffering a heart attack while at work at Aluminum Company of America at
Lafayette. Born Aug. 2, 1905 south of Covington, he was a son of Daniel and Mary Ann
Buckley Holycross. He was married June 28, 1925 to Pauline Cain. They were married at
Wingate. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Wolcott. He had been employed by Aluminum
Company of America since August of 1950. Survivors include the widow; three sons, Loren of
Rt. 6, Anderson, Jerry of Lafayette and Darrell at home; three daughters, Mrs. Loretta
Summers and Mrs. Twila Zackmire, both of near Veedersburg, and Miss Sharon Holycross at
home; a brother, Vernon of Crawfordsville; and six grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by a daughter, Lorene, who died in 1927, and a half-brother, Monte Buckley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Crumley Funeral Home here with
Rev. Ross Kirk officiating. The Hillsboro Masonic Lodge will conduct Masonic rites at the
funeral home at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington.
Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon and evening.
