Ora E. Day, 78, died Wednesday evening at the Rudisill Nursing Home here. He had been ill
for one month prior to his death. He was born in Millcreek Township, Fountain County, Jan.
11, 1884, to Samuel B. and Alice Krout Day. He was preceded in death by his first wife,
Hallie Powell, in 1945. He was married in 1953 to Ethel Brissey. Since 1926 Mr. Day
operated the Dixie Inn, a grocery and a service station, all in Covington. Survivors
include the wife; a sister, Mrs. Luella Summers, Veedersburg; a niece, Mrs. Ruth Crysop,
Monticello, and a cousin who was reared by his parents, Mrs. Gertrude Shuler, Kingman.
Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Neighbors, Amarillo, Tex.; a stepson,
Charles Smith, Albuquerque, N. M., five step-grandchildren and four
great-stepgrandchildren. Services are set at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, 2 p.m.
Saturday. Rev. Glenn
Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral
home after 12 noon Friday.
