hi jan, the davis cemetary is in wabash township. i find a mary riley who died sept. 6,
1866. she was 6 years 6 months and 27 days old. when they documented this cemetary, there
is a good chance mary's stone was there. many times the stones are broken by vandals
or the carekeeper of the cemetary knocks them over with his mower. it's maddening to
see this. according to my records it says mary was the daughter of E & E. of course,
reading the first letter might have been mistaken by the person documenting. mary is the
only riley in davis cemetary. but, in cooper's chapel cemetary which is also in wabash
township, i find:
charles h. riley 1876-1937
sarah a. riley 1884-1957
charles a. riley 1922-1965
david alonzo riley 1864-1910
cecil b. riley 1879-1914
walter v riley 1879-1911
john riley 1847-1913
mary riley 1848-1911
son of je & me 1890 13 years old
in fulton township which is close to wabash township, there are some rileys also buried in
coal creek cemetary. their birth years show that they could be children of those in wabash
township. those i listed in the above are showing as being buried close to each other. you
mention riley...do you by chance have royce, thomas, hankins in your research of the riley
family?
