JAMES C. WHICKCAR was born in Fountain County, Indiana, May 14, 1865, a son
of JAMES and THURSA (WEAVER) WHICKCAR. When he was eleven years old his
mother (father deceased) moved to Tippecanoe County, and settled on the farm
where he now lives, and where he was reared. His education was obtained in
the common schools. In the spring of 1885 he went to Northern Dakota, and
was employed in a hotel a year and a half. While there, November 23, 1887,
he was married to HANNAH THOMPSON, a daughter of THOMAS and BERTHA THOMPSON,
and a native of Fillmore County, Minnesota. After his marriage he returned
to Tippecanoe County, and settled on the old homestead. In politics MR.
WHICKCAR is a Republican. His wife is a member of the Lutheran church.
