Linda-
The Frederick County marriage record for George KIGER and Rebecca REIS/RICE does not pertain to the SAME George KIGER who lived in Rockbridge County, VA and migrated to Fountain County, IN. The Rockbridge George married Rebecca REED/REID and this is not just a typo or mistaken letter. They are two separate George KIGERs.
Both Georges served in the War of 1812 (and the two Georges may well be related in some way). I have the pension papers for the Frederick County George KIGER. He first married Rebecca RICE/REIS and second married Anna Jane RICHARDS. That George died in TX. Anna J. filed for a widow's pension and died in MO. Different George KIGER completely from the one who settled in Fountain County, IN.

If possible, can someone see if there is any marriage record of a William Robinson and Catherine A. (last name unk). They would have been married after 1835 and before 1845. William is from DE; Catherine might be from OH. Thanks.

The 1880 census for Boone Co. IN Warrick Twp has a 4 yr old Addie Brown living in the home of Homer and Ellen Campbell as his ward. Also living there is his mother-in-law Sarah Hart. Could this be your Addie Brown? Boone Co. is between Fountain Co. and Indianapolis IN.

This is what i found on the LaTourette family
HENRY LATOURETTE, FARMER, COVINGTON, IS DESCENDED FROM A FRENCH PROTESTANT FAMILY, TWO BROTHERS OF THE NAME HAVING COME TO AMERICA TO ESCAPE THE PERSECUTION FOR THEIR RELIGIOUS BELIEF, AND SETTLED ON STATEN ISLAND. HE WAS BORN IN WABASH TOWNSHIP, FOUNTAIN COUNTY, JUNE 24,1832. HIS PARENTS WERE JOHN AND SARAH SCHENCH LATOURETTE, BEING EARLY SETTLERS IN THIS COUNTY, HAVING COME IN 1826. THE FORMER WAS BORN IN STATEN ISLAND AND THE LATTER IN NEW JERSEY. THEY WERE MARRIED IN NEW JERSEY, AND MOVED TO WARREN COUNTY, OHIO, IN 1820, FROM WHICH THEY EMIGRATED TO WABASH TOWNSHIP, THIS COUNTY, WHERE THEY BOTH DIED, HIS FATHER FEBRUARY 1848, HIS MOTHER JULY 5,1872. HIS FATHER SERVED IN THE NEW YORK MILITIA, UNDER CAPT. TRUBRIDGE, THROUGHOUT THE WAR OF 1812. MR. LATOURETTE HAS SPENT HIS LIFE WITHIN THE BORDERS OF FOUNTAIN COUNTY, HAVING LEARNED THE WEAVING HANDICRAFT FROM HIS FATHER, AND FOLLOWED THAT FOR TWENTY YEARS. THREE YEARS HE SPENT IN CALIFORNIA AT THE GOLD MINES, AND ON HIS RET!
URN TO INDIANA WENT TO FARMING, WHICH HE HAS SINCE FOLLOWED. IN 1872 HE WAS ELECTED COUNTY TREASURER ON THE REPUBLICAN TICKET, AND SERVED UNTIL 1874, WITH HONOR TO HIMSELF AND SATISFACTION TO HIS CONSTITUENTS. HE WAS MARRIED IN OCTOBER 1862 TO MISS ELIZABETH COOPER, DAUGHTER OF JOHN AND CHARLOTTE ALLEN COOPER. THE FRUIT OF THIS UNION IS A FAMILY OF FOUR CHILDREN: LOTTIE, JOHN, GEORGE AND CHARLES. HIS FARM OF 370 ACRES IS IN A SPLENDID CONDITION AND IS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE COUNTY, THE IMPROVEMENTS BEING SUBSTANTIAL AND IN GOOD SHAPE, AND THE LAND BEARING EVIDENCE OF CAREFUL AND THOROUGH CULTIVATION. HE IS A PROMINENT MEMBER OF THE MASONIC FRATERNITY, AND TAKES AN ACTIVE PART IN EVERYTHING TENDING TO THE UPBUIDING AND PROGRESS OF THE COUNTY. HE HAS BEEN PRESIDENT OF THE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY TWO YEARS, AND IS A LEADING AND STALWART REPUBLICAN.....
SCHUYLER LATOURETTE, FARMER, COVINGTON WAS BORN IN WABASH TOWNSHIP, FOUNTAIN COUNTY, INDIANA IN 1834 AND IS THE SON OF JOHN AND SARAH SCHENCK LATOURETTE, WHO WERE AMONG THE EARLY AND RESPECTED PIONEERS OF FOUNTAIN COUNTY. THE SUBJECT OF THIS MEMOIR WAS RAISED ON A FARM, AND RECEIVED A COMMON SCHOOL EDUCATION, AND HAS FOLLOWED AGRICULTURAL PURSUITS ALL HIS LIFE. IN THE BEGINNING OF THE REBELLION HE ENLISTED IN CO. HIS COMPANY WAS COMPOSED OF MEN FROM HIS OWN NEIGHBORHOOD, AND COMPRISED SOME OF THE BEST SOLDIERS FOUNTAIN COUNTY AFFORDED. AT THE CLOSE OF THE WAR MR. LATOURETTE WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED AND RETURNED TO HIS NATIVE COUNTY, WHERE HE HAS B!
EEN QUITE EXTENSIVELY ENGAGED IN FARMING. HE IS THE OWNER OF A WELL IMPROVED FARM OF 240 ACRES, OF WHICH 160 ACRES IS THE OLD HOMESTEAD. IN 1863 HE MARRIED MISS KATE COOPER, DAUGHTER OF JOHN AND LOTTA COOPER, AND A NATIVE OF NEW JERSEY. MR. LATOURETTE IS A MEMBER OF THE A.F. AND A.M., AND IS ONE OF FOUNTAIN COUNTY'S STAUNCH REPUBLICANS.
A couple more things...Betty Dotson from the Fountain County Genealogy Society emailed me to say that at the center there is a file on the Cooper family and that file mentions the Latourette family's weaving.
This next thing is kinda weird. One of my sisters who lives in Montana forwarded an email she got from a friend of hers. This friend was upset over the use of weed killer at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington. She says the stone of her great+ uncle was not standing straight because the weed killer killed the grass, then the rain has softened the ground around the stone. Her uncle's name was Schuyler Latourette!
Now as for finding one of the Latourette's coverlets....I know a Latourette whose grmother was Mable Latourette. I will see if any of those coverlets were passed down in the family.

Thanks for the dates Sharon.I was wondering if there are any write-ups or bibliography's on John And Sarah In the "History of Fountain County" books. They both were weavers and made beautiful original coverlets of which they introduced the reverse pattern of color technique. Also, I would be very interested in finding a couple of coverlets that are signed,to purchase.
You have been so VERY helpful, I certainly appreciate your efforts.Barbara
