Message Board Post:
I am looking for any / all information regarding a marriage between Francis W. Stutler and Elizabeth Galyeon in Fountain County IN in the year 1895. Thank you.
I recently completed a 644-page genealogical history of one branch of
the Iiams/Ijams/Iams/Imes family that migrated southward from the New
Jersey/New York area down the East Coast to South Carolina, then north
into the Ohio Valley (ca 1790-1810). Some of the family remained in the
Lawrence County, Ohio, area; others eventually moved west into newly
opened lands. The history is being published by Little Miami Publishing
Co, Milford, Ohio. I have attached a copy of the prepublication
announcement being sent to interested family members and genealogical
researchers. I hope and expect the book will be a valuable addition to
the growing collection of documents that describe
Iiams/Ijams/Iams/Imes/etc family histories. Please contact the Little
Miami Publishing Co (address below) if you would like a copy of this
book.
Thank you - jeff imes
Pre-publication Announcement
An Iams/Imes Family History
A Genealogical Account of Westward Migration as Recorded in Court,
Census, and Military Records, Newspaper Articles, and Personal
Remembrances
By Jeffrey L. Imes and Louis B. Imes
This genealogical record traces the descendants of an Iams/Imes family
that migrated from the East Coast into Lawrence County, Ohio, about
1810. One of the four members of this family remained in the Lawrence
County area, while the other three subsequently migrated farther west,
settling mainly in and around Fountain County, Indiana; Stark County,
Illinois; and Franklin County, Kansas. Along the way, the family changed
the spelling of Iams to Imes.
This book incorporates verbatim extracts that include
? many early Lawrence County court records,
? articles written by a prolific writer to the Ironton Register
newspaper in Lawrence County, Ohio, during the 1890s,
? death notices and obituaries from many newspapers, and
? personal information from Civil War records on file at the National
Archives in Washington, D.C.

historical records and conversations with helpful and interested persons
