New Albany Evening Tribune 03-04-1907 p4c4 AT PRINCETON. Andrew J. Castlen, A Former New
Albanian, Dies. Andrew J. Castlen, a former resident and business man of this city, died
suddenly of heart disease yesterday after noon about 3 o'clock at his home in
Princeton, Ind., where he had been engaged in business for the past ten years. He was
sixty-five years old and leaves a wife who is ill at her home. He was an uncle of Mr. E.
B. Plumer, of this city. Mr. Castlen was engaged in the hardware business with the late
John BRIGGS on Pearl between Main and Market streets and later the partnership was
dissolved, Mr. Briggs opening a store on State street and Mr. Castlen continuing in
business on Pearl street. Later the latter sold out and moved to Evansville about thirty
years ago and engaged in the hardware business, moving from Evansville to Princeton, where
he was a member of the hardware firm of Heriott & Castlen. Owing to the illness of
Mrs. Castlen the interment may be held a!

Castlen, Ann (Plumer); New Albany Evening Tribune 01-13-1908 p4c2 Mrs. Andrew Castlen,
formerly of this city, died last evening at 5:30 o'clock at her home in Princeton,
Ind. She was seventy-four years old and is survived by several children. Her husband died
a few months ago at Princeton and the body was taken to Evansville for interment and the
body of Mrs. Castlen will be buried at that place. Mrs. Castlen had many warm friends in
