FLOYDS KNOBS FREIBERGER, MILDRED L. "MILLIE" (GODECKER), 86, died on Monday,
June 22, 2009 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany surrounded by her family.
She was a long-time member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and she managed the
kitchen at St. Mary of the Knobs School for many years. Millie was known by many for her
famous pie-baking skills.
She was born on December 24, 1922 to the late William J. and Elizabeth (Blackman) Godecker
in Floyd County, IN.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Freiberger Sr. and brothers, Hubert and
Marion "Jeff" Godecker.
Millie is survived by her children, Jeanette E. Griffin and her husband, Louis, Paul E.
Freiberger, Jr. and his wife, Sharon, Sister Mary Sue Freiberger, O.S.B., Tony L.
Freiberger and his wife, Carrie; grandchildren, Todd Adam (Kim), Scott Adam (Holly), Dana
Freiberger, Paul Freiberger, III, (Melissa), Sarah Herley (John), Elizabeth Ernstberger
