I would definetly follow up on some of these for obits either in Floyd or Clark
County papers.
Hope this has helped in some way and that this is your family. If not, maybe I
have someone else.
This was all gotten on-line at either Heritage Quest site through my at home
access from my library or at usgennet.clark county. Both free access. Heritage
Quest is really good for census, as you can access all, some you have to browse
if they are not listed on left side of page at site. If you browse, try and get
township and county from another year which can be search either by last name,
or first name only.

Subject: [INFLOYD] How to
How would you begin to look for a female who came to America after she was
married and you don't know the mans name? She, without mentioning her name, is
mentioned in her brothers obit as still alive in Floyd Co Indiana. Also in my gr
uncles obit as his sister, still alive in 1916 in Floyd Co Indiana. Her maiden
name was Hofmeister. It has been seen as Hoffmeister and Hoffmaster.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
June
