June,
Peter and Jacob were in household 120, family 121,(Peter should have been family
121. In household 135, family 136, was a Christine Lantz(spelling?) with
husband Chas. They were both born in Germany, married 43 years, both immigrated
in 1860(making them married before immigrating); both born in Germany, he in
1828, she in 1838; both sets of parents were born in Germany; they had a daus
Carrie and Emma living at home. Christine had 5 of 7 children still living.
This could be a sister or niece? of Peter?
In household 136, family 137, is a Catherine, and the last name I can't make
out exactly but may be Jansodt? with husband Fred. She was born in Germany in
1839, both of her parents were born in Germany, she immigrated in 1856.They have
only been married 6 years, have 1 of two children living. A sister-in-law of
Fred, is listed as Sophia Clever? age 42. Catherine may be a sister of
Christine? and maybe a sister or niece of Peter.
If Peter is your man who was in Clark Co, the chance is very good that Christine
could be the woman for whom you are looking that married before coming to
America and her maiden name was Hofmeister.
Peter is the only Hofmeister I found in Clark Co.

Subject: [INFLOYD] How to
How would you begin to look for a female who came to America after she was
married and you don't know the mans name? She, without mentioning her name, is
mentioned in her brothers obit as still alive in Floyd Co Indiana. Also in my gr
uncles obit as his sister, still alive in 1916 in Floyd Co Indiana. Her maiden
name was Hofmeister. It has been seen as Hoffmeister and Hoffmaster.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
