Looking for information on Chares Crumbaugh/CRUMBO:
*Information Wanted of a Missing Man*.—Eds. Ledger: Will you be so kind
as to call the attention of the public to the following facts. Over one
month ago *Charles R. Crumbaugh*, a resident of this city, left home for
the purpose of seeking employment in Louisville, or on the Nashville
Railroad, fixing the following Saturday night as the latest time for his
return to his family. He took no garments with him, not even wearing a
coat. He left, with his wife his money, papers, and note book. The last
heard of him was that he had applied for work at an Edge Tool Manufactory
in Louisville, but finding no vacancy, had left, since which time he has
disappeared. It is feared that he had been killed by accident, or has
departed for parts unknown.
He was a member of the Christian Church here; a sober, industrious man. He
was about 23 years of age; medium size, 5 feet 9 inches high; large blue
eyes; smooth face; dark brown hair; front teeth loose in the gums from an
accident suffered.
He left a wife and one child totally dependent upon him.
Any information concerning him will be most thankfully received.
All papers are earnestly entreated to copy this, and thus aid an afflicted
family to discover the fate or whereabouts of the absent husband.
All Christian papers are especially asked to comply with the foregoing
request..
Any information may be addressed to Elder W. F. Parker, Pastor of the
First Christian Church. New Albany, Ind., Aug. 22, 1870.
