The school was Griffin Street School.? The building is still there; it is
a? recreation center now.?
Wow, I had not thought of the A & W in a long time.? I grew up off State
Street.
I loved to cross the street as a child going to Lillian Emery School in the
1st through third grade, to get a cold 5 cents A & W root beer after
school, then would walk back across the street through the school lot to
the end of Union Street where we lived then later living in the government
housing in the latter years walking to school from there. Stopping to see
Paul Embry? at his store occasionally.
Mention of A & W brought back those wonderful memories.
