Carter Harrison
Carter Harrison, Navy veteran
Funeral services for Carter Harrison of New Albany, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept.
20, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes, with
private burial to follow. He died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, at Kindred Hospital in
Louisville.
He was a native of Los Angeles, Calif. and a veteran of World War II and the Korean
Conflict where he served as a Lieutenant in the Navy. He worked in the transportation
field for 40 years and was executive director of AST & L and director of
transportation for the Louisville Chamber of Commerce. After his retirement he worked for
the Southern Indiana Visitors Center which he loved. He also was involved in many
transportation organizations, as well as, "Mensa" and "Skal."
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Jo Ann Harrison; nieces and nephews, Jim and
Vickie Hall and Jack and Deb Caudill; a sister-in-law, Audrey Hall; two great nephews; one
great niece; and one great-great-niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carter H. and Alice McLaurin Harrison.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American
Heart Association.
