Johnny,
My sister saw your post about wanting info about Norma Bruner. I saw the
post when I was at my parent's house today. I don't know how much you already
know, but my grandparents, John and Abbie McAdams raised her from the time she
was about 13 months old. She grew up as a sister to my mom (Viola) , Aunt
Thelma, and Uncle Carl. They lived in New Middletown, not far from where you
lived the first year or so of your life. I remember her, since she died when I
was about 10. She had 2 other kids, Judy and Gary Eckart from her marriage to
Manford (before your dad). I always thought when I was little that they were my
cousins, and have pictures of them with me when I was a little girl. I saw Judy
last in 2007 at my grandmother's funeral. She is married and her last name is
now Archibald. I don't know where Gary is now. I remember going to Norma's
funeral and having to wear a hanky on my head so I could enter the church, since
Catholics had that rule back then. My mother is Viola McAdams Woodward, married
to Millard. Carl and Thelma are both deceased now, as are both of my
grandparents. The last time I saw your mom and you was a little before she
died. She came down and got my mom and all 4 of us kids, and took us up to your
house. She stopped somewhere and bought us hamburgers. I remember your brother
who was a around my age, since we all rode the same school bus. The house she
lived in is still standing and my brother owns the farm now. It is next door to
my parents' house. There was another house they lived in before that, and it
was just down the road. I don't know if it is still there or not. I grew up
next door to my grandparents, and my parents are still next door.
