Representatives from the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library,
Jeffersonville Township Public Library, Charlestown-Clark County Public
Library, Corydon Public Library, and the Stevens memorial Museum and
Library will be present. Also represented will bet the Southern Indiana
Genealogical society, Floyd County Museum, Floyd County Historical
Society, Crawford County Genealogical Society, Scott County Genealogical
Society, and other genealogical and historical societies from
surrounding counties. They will be there to answer questions concerning
research materials available in this area. Vendors such as Evansville
Bindery Inc., McDowell Publications, Creative Memories, and many more.
Genealogical books, charts, and supplies will be available for purchase
to facilitate and enhance your genealogical research.
To serve the area genealogists the fair will also include free
workshops. The workshops will cover a variety of short sessions:
(1)Preparing Genealogy Forms, (2) Beginning Genealogy, (3) Using Census
Records, (4) Researching on the Internet, (5) Genealogy Software
Available, and (6) Information Available from the National Archives.
Workshops are ongoing and pre-registration is not required.
The Southern Indiana Genealogical Society, which serves the seven
southern Indiana counties of Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Perry,
Scott, and Washington, will have the societys newest publications plus
all past publications and quarterlies as well as family group sheets and
fifteen generation charts available for purchase.
There will be drawings for door prizes throughout the day. Free
brochures and catalogs of research publications will be available.
Persons attending the fair in previous years have found it to be very
informational. Enjoy a day at the fair attending workshops or browsing
for books and other genealogical resources.
Green Valley elementary School is centrally located and is only a short
driving distance from area restaurants, so plan to spend the day. For

Directions to Green Valley School:
Take I-265 to the State Street exit. Head south onto State Street.
Turn left onto Daisy Lane and follow to Green Valley Road. Turn right
at the first light onto Green Valley Road. The school is on the left.
