If he was of German descent, which I imagine he was, he is more than likely buried in St
Mary's Catholic Cemetary which is on Charlestown Rd in New Albany. Was his father
also Peter Buchheit who was a brewer in New Albany? There is a listing for a Peter
Burkhart in the 1870 Floyd County census who was a brewer and had a son, Peter, your
Peter's age. My reason for asking is my gg-grandfater Peter Weber kept a saloon in New
Albany at that time and appears on the Census a page away from Peter Burkhart. As you may
or not know saloons at the time got their beer from local brewers and it is more likely
than not they knew each other and did business. Also did this family ever live in
Missouri? I have an entry for a Peter Weber living in 1950 St Charles Co, Mo with a family
whose name appears to be Boshart (Burkhart?Buchheit?) Have you ever heard of your Buchheit
family having ties to any Webers?
