Dear Listers,
Now that you have helped me find Charles A. Fiske/Fisk in 1850 and all, I
find I still need some information.
The problem is that I cannot find Charles in KY on the 1870 census. Yet,
his last son was born there and it looks as if he moved there from New
Albany.
I did find out that there was a terrible depression in RI in 1837, and that
is about the year he and his father left RI for Indiana.
Since Charles did not appear on the 1870 census in KY perhaps he sneaked
back across the Ohio River just in time for the census. Is there anyone on
the List who is willing to look into the 1870 index or the census for the
New Albany area to see if Charles A. Fiske/Fisk is listed? He was 41 and
his wife was Rose, and he had a bunch of kids--
Ada, Charles, Edward, and George among them
Thanks from Southern CA where the Angels are Losing.
Tom
