I have Discovered a Buried Tombstone in the Huff Cemetery located in Sec 16
Greenville Twp.. The Cemetery has been Destroyed. It is completely cleared.
It was Deeded as 1 Acre in 1839 by Parmasenis Huff.
The Inscription on the stone is; Wm. Huff B. July 9, 1832, departed
this life July 10, 1863. I am working on this cemetery and may soon discover
more stones. If anyone is interested, William was the son of Parmasenis
Huff, who is also known to be buried there. The Mother of Parmasenis , Elizabeth
HOFF (German) had a birth date in the Late 1700's. She is also Buried in the
cemetery, with possibly several more. I found Elizabeth's stone 5 years
ago, but now it has disappeared. I also found a piece of a tombstone with a
partial spelling of Huff, the birth date was 1838.. I have not yet found the rest
of the stone. This would likely be the Son of Parmasenis. I also am finding
Field Stone Markers (2) to date. The property around the "burying ground" is
being Subdivided.
If anyone is interested or believe you are related, please contact me
personally. I will keep you informed.
