I am looking for the connection between the Fougerousse, Mangin, and
Bettinger
families who lived in Floyd County, around New Albany, in the late 1800's
and early 1900's. I have a postcard dated December 11, 1914 or 1915, sent
from New Albany by Anna Fougerousse to Mrs. Anna Turk (nee Mangin) in
Washington,
IN. The text reads, "My Dear Cousin, Grandpa Bettinger is dying. He may
linger some days, but there is no hope. He has pneumonia. From Lublin 400
had to go to war. That sure was hard. Anna Fougerousse." Can anyone help
me shine light on this?

The only thing I know about the Fougerousse family is that
they originated
from St Avoid France. Shirley Wolfe, volunteer at the FHL on Slate
Run Rd in New Albany has done a little research on that family. As far
as I know she doesn't have e-mail, but you may be able to reach her on a
Tuesday there between 11 a.m. & 3 p.m. or 6-9 p.m. They are closed
Tuesday the 21st for Thanksgiving.
