A dear friend of mine and Real Estate partner had a relative in New Albany
(see below his msg)
I looked through newspaper clippings (after the fact) and found nothing in
the index.
Is anyone on this list familiar with, or related to this person?
Lee Benham
My friend, Jack Mercer, was his nephew. His fondest childhood memory is
going to visit New Albany in abt 1945-1946 when he would have been 8 or 9.
His uncle Lee put him on a train. He got to ride with the engineer, about
2-3 hours out one way (alone). At that point Lee had wired ahead to turn
the boy around and he rode back to New Albany Station the same way.
Even having just been in New Albany I am clueless which house he may be
referring to.
Any ideas? *the hill*??? On address or Lee?

(from Jack)
During WWII my uncle, Lee Benham, was the station master at
New Albany and lived in the house just W. of the station on
the hill.
