Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

The New Albany Fire Museum
Curtis Peters, Board Chair of Friends of the New Albany Fire Museum,
Inc., will speak at the Southern Indiana Genealogical Society’s
July 7 meeting. Mr. Peters will talk about the museum and the history
of local firefighting. He will report on the efforts of the museum
to purchase a vintagecollection of fire engines, equipment, and
memorabilia that is considered one of the top five collections in the
United States. The collectionincludes seven hand-pulled pumps and
engines. Among them are a colonial handengine from 1756, the
very first chemical fire engine in the United States,and two
horse-drawn steam fire engines.
The public is invited and welcome to attend.
