Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
You might try Ancestry.com for Immigration Records, which are free for the
rest of the month. I am pasting some information here for you. I will also
e-mail the page to you so that the links are active. I have some
information on Ruth Ann Lamb and Christopher C. Fox somewhere. But frankly,
I have so much research which has not been collated that I don't know where
to look! I believe it was a census record I had. I am descended from
Henry, Josiah, Augustine and Charlotte "Lottie" Lamb. I hope you can find
him in the Immigration Records. Good luck.

Ancestry.com Offers Free Access to Immigration Collection
Earlier today I posted the new announcement by Ancestry.com describing the

Hello All,
I have a dilemma. Great-grandma is missing.
I have never found, short of immigration, a documented occurrence of this poor woman.
I have her for several decades on census in England but that is of no help now.
Caroline Elizabeth Perkins nee Walker. b. Smethwick, Staffordshire, England abt 1836.
Immigration was in 1881, the family went directly to New Albany where family already was living. They took over the house after her brother, Robert Walker and his family moved to Anderson, Indiana. The address was 1916 elm Street. Because they came in 1881 they missed the census, of course, 1890 we have none and by 1900 Andrew Jasper Perkins, her husband, still lives at the same address, widowed.
He died June 17th, 1915 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee. His death certificate states:
Undertaker: McDowell and Monteverde (in Memphis, their building was, as luck would have it, sold to the library and became the first Negro library in Memphis)
Burial or Removal: New Albany, Indiana
Date of Burial: June 18th, 1915.
I am making the assumption he was brought to New Albany to be buried with his wife.
Is there someone who can tell me where to ask for a death certificate WITHOUT knowing exact birth date or exact death date, or which cemetery to look in?
Unfortunately I have no inkling which cemetery Andrew was buried in.
Thanks in advance for anything......
I have looked in the papers, no announcements or Obits. The New Albany paper online date through 1889 and much of the family happenings are in the paper - marriages, deaths, etc. I cane only guess from this she dies after 1889. I have looked at the data online at the New Albany Public Library, nothing there either. I have done my research but am still ramming my head against that brick wall.
Nina Harkey
I'm sorry - Fairview Cemetery, New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana
