Hi Irene,
I'm afraid I don't have any info for you, but thought maybe I could pick your brain. Fugit is an uncommon name, however my Great Grandmother's name was Fugit. Her first name is Katherine (Catherine). I don't believe this was her maiden name, but her first husband's name. She then married my G-Grandfather Charles King. Does any of this sound familar. Any help would be so greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Earlene (King) Martinez

Not related in any way that I know, but I'm curious as to the definition of "cooper". It has also been listed as an occupation for some of my kin.

I too would like to sort out the Hancock's in Floyd Co. and Harrison Co Indiana. At times it seems that they must be related, but how?
My great grandfather Abraham Hancock was born in Ky in 1816 and first appeared in the Floyd Co IN 1840 census next to a William Hancock born before 1765. It appears this William
was also in the same place in the 1830 Floyd Census. I have not been able to determine how this William is associated with the other Hancocks in Floyd or Harrison. I do have some land transfer info which may show some ties??

I'm looking for an obituary for James JOHNSON. It should be in the New Albany Ledger on 11/30/1886. I'm interested in finding his birthplace, parents, siblings. Thanks in advance.
In the 1860 census for New Albany I find a Adam Dingledine age 30, wife
Elizabeth age 28, and Daughter Elizabeth age 7 months
They don't show up in any other census anywhere. Where and what can I
check in the local area for further information.
I am new to list and am uncertain as to what resources are available on line
