Re: [INFLOYD] Re: Kerns, Karnes, Karns, Carnes
by Antoinette Waughtel Sorensen
I have the same information as you do on this family. I do have a notation
that the Peter Carnes family is recorded in the City of New Albany census
1850 per the following:
CARNES ~
Peter 40 Laborer b. Indiana
Hannah 36 b. Massachusetts
George 17 b. Indiana
Ephriam 15 "
Lafayette 12 "
Adaline 10 "
Irena 7 "
Peter, jr 4 "
Josephus 1 "
I have the notation that Hannah was the eldest daughter of Thomas and Hannah
(Fillebrown) Blackman having been born January 16,1814. Peter Carnes was
born April 4, 1810 in Washington County, Indiana, a son of Leonard Carnes
and wife (2) Caty Doerner.
I have the will of Leonard under ~ ~ The Indenture of the Heirs & Devisees
of Leonard Kerns ~ ~ on my website ~ ~
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~waughtel/index.htm ~ ~
Although I have a KERNS line through my mother I have a paternal great aunt
Jane Waughtell whose children are tied in with the CARNES/KERNS lineage.
Antoinette (Tacoma, Washington)

marriage of Geo. and Sarah took place in Floyd Co. It is listed in the
Marriage Record Book, 1853-1857, available at the NAFCPL. Also, Geo. was
born 4/13/1833 in Washington Co.
