I am glad you enjjoyed the information . I shold note that the children by Herman's first wife Maggie , I have updated as I got the birth order a little out of wack when working from memory instead of my files , i have since corrected this on my work but not on this posting as i did not want to repeatedly take up to much space on this board . I should note too that the 1909 date for a Herman Dyer was a incorrect date that the SSA has for the Birth of Herman Sr's son Herman Washington , given them by his wife. Herman Sr by the way had two sons named Herman . I would be glad to try to crumble that wall with you if you like , and who knows we mat be realted . I have several family portraits which are marked Wilson, New Albany. My family was mostly from Louisville, but obviously had some ties to New Albany. Can anyone give me any info about this photographer? The portraits were all taken in the late 1800's or early 1900's.

Looking for the burial place of Hiram and Ann Willson. Hiram and Ann piloted a log raft from Genesee, New York to Covington KY @ 1848 and set up a sawmill. A good many homes in the Cincinnati area were built using NY lumber. Their son Augustus Willson became govenour of Kentucky. Another son Forseyth Willson wrote "The Old Sargent", a very popular poem of the Civil War Published in Louisville KY. Hiram and Ann are supposed to be buried in New Albany. Would appreciate any info as to which cemetery.

I am just starting out on this and the only details I have is my great grandmother born around 1892 (approx) with name Leslie Maud Broker. Leslie married a Mr White before divorcing then marrying a Mr Black - can you believe it?! Do not have first names. My grandfather was born Charles Eric Black in Tennessee in 1911 and his brother was Bud White. I live in New Zealand on the other side of the world so would love to find out anything!

I am seeking information on a William F Blossom of New York moved to Floyd county. He is listed in the 1850 census
with four children and married to May E. I think it's Mary E, hard to tell in the census. I do know that she was born in Indiana. I'm guessing they were married in Floyd co between 1830 to 1841. I know that William F was born on or about 1812.
I am trying to find Williams mother/father names and their history at NY. Also would like to confirm his wifes name and
her background.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
I am in the US Air Force stationed in Italy and have no other ability to search other than the intranet. I have exhausted my efforts. Thanks!

"Cooper" by another trade. Andrew died in New Albany.
Feb. 19, 1859.
Andrew also had a son, Andrew L. Castlen who also resided in New Albany. He

If anyone has any access to any History of New Albany Books or can find any

Mary Cochran m. John Venable, Jr. are my 3g grandparents. Their children are Julia, Martha, Mary, Martin (my line), John, Deborah, Sarah, Thomas, Richard & Louisa. Most of this is from other's research.
In the 1850 census for Floyd, IN, John is listed with his family, as a farmer who can read and write.
I'd love to share.

Hi Listers,
I'm new to this list because I just moved back a generation on my tree and find myself searching for names in Floyd County. If someone has access to an index for or the actual census records of 1880 and can help me, I'd be very appreciative. Here is what I have:
John H. LYLE/LYLES ( b. abt. 1848 in TN or VA) married Nancy CLEVELAND (b. abt 1852 in IN). This info is taken from the funeral record of John's son (also named John H.).
John H. (#2) was born in New Albany, IN on 6/7/1871.
On the Floyd Co. 1870 census, I find:
John H. (#1), age 22, wife Nancy, age 18, and son William, age 7 mo.
I am interested in learning if the same family with additional children (including 9-yr-old John) appears on the 1880 census for Floyd County.
Also, ANY information on the Nancy Cleveland would be a hugh bonus.
Thank you for reading and for any help.
