I am still looking for anyone who may have information regarding William Whitlock, Sr., who was living in Greenville Township in the 1840s and early 50s. Census data indicates that he was born in VA abt 1796. He had a son named William Nelson Whitlock, Jr., so I am guessing that the father's middle name was Nelson as well.
William Whitlock, Sr., married his second wife Julia Monaghan in Floyd Co. in 1835. I have no information about his first wife, who was the mother of William, Jr.
William Sr. apparently died in the early 1850s in Floyd Co.
According to the 1880 census for Floyd Co., William Jr. was living in Lafayette Township at that time. It indicates that he was born in KY in 1826, and was married to A. Mary Whitlock. They had 2 daughters Mariah (21), Eliza (18), and a son Elmer (12). Marriage records show that William Jr. married Mary Kersner in Floyd Co. Aug. 23, 1849.
I am trying to find information about William, Sr., because I am fairly certain that he and his first wife were also the parents of Eliza Ann Whitlock, b. 1818 in KY. I have not yet found proof that they were her parents, which is what I am attempting to do here. Eliza Ann Whitlock, who was my gr-gr-grmother, married Hiram Hopper in Floyd Co, also in 1835. Immediately after their marriage, Hiram and Eliza Ann returned to Hiram's home in Cincinnati until the early 1850s, at which time they moved permanently to Greenville. It seems likely that the timing of this move coincided with the death of William, Sr., but it may have been coincidental.

Nancy,
Thanks so much for the information. I had been able to determine that Alphretta (Alfresty Catherine Lonsford according to my sources) was born July 25,1867 in IN. She first married Clayton Burress (no date information) and later Jake Arney. We had never been able to determine if she had stayed in IN or not. I would love to share any information that you might have on this branch of the family tree. Do you have any information on Margaret other than her death in NB? Did she remarry?
Will be glad to share what information we have on the Lonsford/Longstreet branches.
Thanks again,
John Boyd

Fellow researchers,
I'm trying to locate additional information on Betty and her parents. Betty was the first wife of George Woodrow Metzger, also of New Albany. Betty passed in 1979 and on New Years Day 1983, George married my grandmother Cleadus Wilcoxson Garrett. George died June 04, 1997 in Clark Co., IN. Both Betty and George are entombed at Kraft-Graceland in Floyd Co., IN. Anyone with additional information on Betty Raehl Metzger or her parents, Clifford and Evon Robinson Raehl, please contact me directly at SonnyHaven(a)aol.com.

There are many Hublard and Veron family members still residing in New Albany and I have many updates I am adding now. I would love to enter your family also and the book will probably be in reprint in a year or two. I am not selling any books. If you have a chance, go to the library to review. Hi Wronkat,
I can't help you with your descendants, but am hoping you've discovered the
fantastic LDS microfilm of the records of St. Mark's Church.
Some wonderful person abstracted, translated, and cross-indexed all of those
German records from 1837 to 1895. Here's the LDS FHL information from their
online catalog:

Good Hunting to you, re: descendants!
****************
My gosh! Just re-looked at your names in this posting! I've got a KOHLER in
my New Albany HEYD line! Now wouldn't that be a coincidence? (or maybe not!)
In the HEYD Bible (which is now posted at <http://www.biblerecords.com>, is
the marriage of George HEYD to Mary Kohler 30 March 1891.
So, now, any connection? I am a great-granddaughter of George HEYD's younger
brother Jacob HEYD, Jr. SO.....if Anna Renz and Jacob Kohler had a daughter
Mary/Maria, I might be a collateral relative!
There isn't a birth/death record for Mary in the Bible, but her husband
George HEYD was born 9 June 1857 in NA and died, according to the Bible, on
7 Aug 1922 at age 65 years, 2 months, and 10 days.

Do you have any children for Mary & Wm. B. Hunter?
Dear Listers,
My Great-grandparents, Jacob HEYD, Jr. and Phebe RICHMOND HEYD, and two
children, Daisy and George, are listed in the 1900 Madison County census, in
Alexandria City, Ward 3, ED 99, sheet 14 B, lines 86-89. They lived at 621
West Adams Street.
Jacob, born in New Albany, age 41, is listed as a machinist, as he was at
age 21 in 1880 in New Albany.
By the 1910 census he's a "Master Mechanic; Glass Works", and is a
superintendant at Heidencamp Glass Works in Springdale, Allegheny County,
Pennsylvania.
My questions:
Is "machinist" a job found in a glass factory? What kind of a job is it?
Might that have been an "entry-level" job, leading to the position of
"superintendent" in the Heidencamp factory in Springdale?
And my biggest query:
If so, in what New Albany and/or Alexandria City glass factories might he
have worked?
Thanks for your time and attention to my query...
Cari
