NEWLON, JOHN & ANN nee WALKER - FLOYD & WASHINGTON COUNTIES 1830
by Antoinette Waughtel Sorensen
In researching my WALKER line out of Virginia into Kentucky and thence Indiana, I have found that in 1830 my 3rd greatgrandfather (William Sanders Walker sr/wife Louisa Leffler) & his siblings ~ Thomas Burton Walker/wife Nancy Woodruff & Sarah B. McCormick nee Walker/widow of Alexander McCormick & Ann nee Walker & husband John Newlon signed papers giving Thomas Burton Walker power of attorney to sell the property in Virginia that their late father (late mother was Jane Burton who had married a Nathaniel Hankins after death of William Walker) had left them. I have not been able to find any information on John & Ann nee Walker Newlon (aka Newland & Nowlon) except that they were in Washington County in 1830 when they signed the document. William Sanders Walker & wife Louisa was well known in Washington County and Thomas Burton Walker & wife Nancy in Floyd County. I found Sarah B. Walker McCormick & children living with brother Thomas in 1850 in the census. After that I have!
not found her anywhere. Did she re-marry?
Any help on this family, especially John & Ann Walker Newlon will be gratefully appreciated.
