Kay I checked the Indiana census for a Tilson Sutherland. The only Sutherlands in Floyd Co were:
John age 30 b Scotland
Joseph age 45 b Ky
wife Sarah 35 b. Tenn
no children by any names similar to his
Elizabeth Sutherlands b Tenn
children: Joseph L.(or T) age 7
Lucinda age 5
I also checked in Illinois and Ky but needed the parents names to find a child there. If you have any other names, I would be happy to check for you. There were many Sutherlands in Ky.
When I ordered my Morris m. Embs marriage certificate, the
following certificate was just above mine.
Joseph M. Whitilutt and Cornelia Bowlice were joined
together as Husband and Wife, by virtue of a License, issued
by the Clerk of Floyd Circuit Court, this 30th day of Sept.,
1869, by me.
G.F. Adams CP
The man's surname may be Whititull. I just can't tell.
Anyway, if someone wants this copy, email me privately and I
will send it to the first person I hear from.

I'm desperatley searching for anyone who has any
connection to any of the Eddings families that lived
in Harrison and Floyd Counties from the 1810's to the
Civil War.
The marriage index online at
http://www.statelib.lib.in.us/www/indiana/genealogy/mirr.html
shows:
Christiana Eddings married to Thomas W. Jester in
Floyd County 7/12/1844
David Eddings married to Ella Eliza Rusk in Floyd
County 5/15/1842 (my ggggrandparents)
Samuel Eddings married to Christina Marcena in Floyd
County 1/31/1840
I believe they are all related somehow but cannot find
any information on any of the families. I know that
David and Eliza Eddings left Floyd County around the
time of the Civil War and that they eventually ended
up in Tippecanoe County where David died in 1888 at
the age of 68. I have no death date for Eliza and no
burial locations for any of them.
If anyone out there has information on any of these
people I would be delighted to hear from you!
Thank you!
Lena

I'm looking for information a Maria Eddings who
married Charles Veron in New Albany in 1829. Eddings
was not Maria's maiden name but was her name by her
first marriage. I know Maria was still alive in 1860
and was about 60 years old at the time. She had 4
sons: David Eddings, Charles Veron, Augustus Veron and
Florean Veron. I don't know if there were any
daughters or any other children who didn't survive to
adulthood.
Thanks for your help!
Lena

My G-Grandmother and 3 of her siblings were adopted by 2 different families after their father's death in 1895. I've found 2 1900 census records with the children and their adoptive parents. Are there any adoption records in existance and if so, how can I obtain copies of them? I suspect that the families were chosen by the childrens' mother. One of the families is connected to their blood line. I'm not sure about the other. If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd be forever grateful.

I'm looking for someone who has information on Charles

I have had little success in finding more information about my Charles Collins of Floyd County. The best information I have is that he may be part of the George A. Collins family. Wife Mary Taylor . Their children: William, Charles, Harry & Danelia. They appear in the 1880 census. George was born in West Virginia and Mary was born in Clark County, Indiana.
