I have never been able to locate the burial place for Francoise Durant
Ecabert
who must have died in l857. I have record where she signed a deed in
that year
and then Joseph Ecabert, her husband, remarried in l858. All in Floyd
County.
Thanks. Mary Lou Sievers
Sue I still have a lot of work to do. I don't want to release any thing until
I am sure I have located all known, and have verified them. If I released the
complete list now, there could be mistakes, or cemeteries that exist in
someone's mind only. I believe with the phone calls and E-mails I am getting
there may be more. Yes, when I am done there will be a list posted somewhere.
And as far as the work, I am on my 6th straight hard month. But I enjoy
it.

In my revised listings of Floyd Co. Burial sites, I have included among
others destroyed, the Tomb of River Boat Captain McHarry. Although he is no
longer buried there, he was Entombed from 1857 until his wife moved him to
Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville around 1900. This was, and is a site that is
part of our county History. If anyone knows of any other Burial sites in
Floyd Co that have been destroyed, or no longer exist, please let me know. I
am especially interested in Lafayette Twp.I am now up to 135 Known sites.
These sites are part of our Co. History, and need to be made available to
those doing Genealogical Research. None must be forgotten !
Thanks, Jack E. Briles sr.

In your Query you asked about Snyder cemetery, now you hae changed to Snider,
there is A Snyder and a Snider. Which one ?. Snider is in Franklin Twp.,
and Snyder is in New Albany Twp. I have just finished locating all
cemeteries in Floyd Co. and compiled a list for each Twp. So far Snyder in
New Albany Twp. is recorded as Destroyed. I am stil researching it. There are
no names recorded anywhere. Snider cemetery is in Franklin Twp. and is still
there. I havent been recording names. I havent had time. I had 3 months to
find 133 Known sites, either in existince or destroyed. All I know Now is the
Surnames there are, ALLEN, DAVIS, HANCOCK, SNIDER, and TRUESDALE. There
could be others. You might check at the New Albany-Floyd Co Public Library in
the Local History Rm. But the latest information they have is recorded in
1933. They don't even have the Location. Can you tell me who you are looking
for ??
