Surname: EMMONS, SARLES, SCOTT

My Sarah/Sally EMMONS, b. c. 1835 in Floyd County, IN, and not found in
the Floyd County 1850 Fed. Census under either name, married John C. Sarles
of the Knobs, (Vincennes Twp), Floyd County, IN. in 1857, had 10 or more
children and left IN for Cooke County, TX about 1875. Could she have been
listed as "Elizabeth" in a proximate household to the SARLES in in the

Surname: TULLY, ANDRES, HESS, WELMAN, TOWNSEND, HUTCHINSON
-------------------------
Hi,
My name is Judy Welman and I live in Greenville, Floyd County, Indiana.
I was born in New Albany, where I lived for 20 years until I married. I
am back in Floyd County and have been for 25 years. I am related to some
Tully's, namely Buddy Tully (deceased), his wife Rita, and their two children,
Beverly and Johnny. I believe Rita, Beverly and Johnny all still live in
New Albany, Indiana. I am not quite sure of how I am related, but I think
Buddy Tully (real name unknown until I ask my mother) is my Mom's first
cousin. My mother is Elizabeth Anne Hess Townsend Hutchinson, who also
still lives in New Albany. Her mother (my grandmother) was Margaret Mary
Andres Hess (deceased), who was one of, I believe, 8 children. I believe
my grandmother had two brothers, Bill Andres and Joseph Andres, and 5 sisters,
ANNA ANDRES TULLY, Mary Andres Whiteman, Louise Andres Dennison (known
to me as a child as "Aunt Lulie", Rose Andres Warth, and Katherine Andres
Rankin, who was my grandmother's identical twin sister. There is a member
of the "Andres clan" here in New Albany named Judy Bowe (spelling?) who
has researched the family tree extensively.
If you feel that my family is tied to yours and that the Anna Andres Tully
that I mentioned above is your Anna Tully, I would be happy to mail you
a photocopy of a picture that I have of all 6 of the "girls". In addition,
if there is other specific information that I may be able to get for you,
please e-mail back and I'll try to get it for you.
Good luck,
Judy
Does anyone have information about how I might find the naturalization application or papers for my Gr Grfather John Frederick Wilhelm Greve? He came from Germany in l838 and his voters register here states that he was naturalized in New Albany Ind. Since he was a minor when he came (l7) he should have been able to be naturalized sometime between l840 and l848. I know that he was in Louisianna in about l848 and then to California permanently by l850. Thanks for any information on the records of the circuit court. Betty allured(a)jps.net.

Hello Listmembers:
My name is Debbie and I am the listowner of another mailing list and have
already received the permission of your list owner to post this.
The other mailing list, also hosted by Rootsweb is the Kentuckiana-L list.
It is a list for the research of persons relating to southern IN and
northern KY. The actual topic for the list is:
Topic: anyone with a genealogical, historical, or cultural interest in the
Indiana counties of Clark, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison, Orange, Perry,
Scott and Washington and the Kentucky counties of Breckinridge, Hardin,
Jefferson and Meade. Any discussions having to do with the families in this
area, including how they lived, worked, are welcome.
I am announcing this on this list as it is only advertised on the KY mailing
lists for Rootsweb and I feel there are a number of researchers in the IN
area who may also benefit from it and would otherwise not know of its
existence.
If you are interested in subscribing to this list please send mail to
KENTUCKIANA-L-request(a)rootsweb.com
with only the word subscribe in the body of the message.
Thanks so very much for your time and I am hoping to help some people with
this news.
