In southwestern Indiana, many have gone across state lines into
Shawneetown, IL to elope for a "quickie marriage." I have not heard of
anyone running across the Ohio River into Kentucky (Henderson or Owensboro)
to elope. I believe that the state laws were similar enough that there
existed no advantage for a "quickie marriage."

Thanks -- without map and mind not sharp these days, just couldn't seem to
dredge up the name -- Richmond, Wayne Co, IN is the town I was talking about.
