I don't know if any of you get the Obituary List but they are now online and
when I did a scan of the newspapers in Indiana I saw a number of them
(although none for Perry, Spencer and Gibson Cos unfortunately <weeping>) --
I did notice Kokomo, Ft Wayne, Evansville and lots more.
What these are is the name and date of death/obituary that appeared in that
paper and then you can contact the person to get the exact obituary if needed.
Just thought you cc's would like to know this exists and possibly a place
you can find names of persons in those newspaper obits (current).

A list of the publications is sent every month or so to subscribers of the
list and this was how I searched for IN newspapers. They also have this
list of newspapers online too and here is a little about this list:
---quote---
This list is designed to represent all publications that have been or are
currently being indexed for the Obituary Daily Times. If you have access to
a publication that does not appear on this list, it simply means that it
has never been indexed for the ODT. New publications are always welcome!
Just let your moderator know that you are starting to index a new
publication, they will pass the info along to me, and I will add it to the
publication list.
DUAL LISTINGS: Please note that this periodical list is sorted 2 ways,
first by periodical and then by tagname. Check the tagname sorting to see
what papers we have you listed as indexing. This is also a good way to
check for the accuracy of periodical name, abbreviation, and publishing
location.
Any newspapers listed with a tagname "adopte me!" are not currently being
indexed and should be considered for indexing. Newspapers listed with a
tagname "defunct" are either no longer published, or are no longer carrying
obituaries.
A new feature of this listing starts this week. We will be identifying the
newspapers that are on our list with a tagname of "Adopt me!" that have
their obituaries on-line! This will be notated with an * after the
newspaper name.
These papers can be found by going to the web site of
<
http://www.newslink.org>
and following the links from there.

I have nothing to do with this website -- only passing info along as I have
found quite a few of out-of-state obits from this list which I otherwise
would not have known was even there until I saw the obit notice from this
list (for that matter I didn't even know those particular relatives had
passed on since no one bothered to inform me).
