The state usually has a pamphlet for different locations of where historic
landmarks are as well as other historic places, buildings, battles, etc -- I
believe their tourist division is the one who gives out these books, etc.
Same with local visitors centers, etc.
Many of these are online by just visiting the town or state name and use the
+visitor or +information to get the url.

Seminar planned on public records
>From an article in the Evansville Courier:
http://courier.evansville.net/cgi/view.cgi?199807/21+records_news.html
A seminar on access to public records has been
scheduled for July 31 in Evansville, said County Auditor
Suzanne Crouch.
The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. in Civic Center Room 301.
Ms. Crouch said local elected officials and department heads
will be invited to the meeting, as well as the general public.
Anne O'Connor, who heads a newly appointed governor's
task force on public records, has been invited to the seminar,
Ms. Crouch said.
The task force was created after a series of articles by The
Courier and six other Indiana newspapers documented how
difficult it is to obtain some public records in the state.

Anyone know of a website that might list historic landmarks for a given
area....i.e. the signs you see standing showing information about a
given site...?
