I am researching my Klosterman relatives from the Dubois Co. area and
would love ANY information anyone could provide
Johann Fredrich Klosterman b. 1822 in Germany, died 1879 in
Huntingburg - he was a member of the Salem Evangelical Church - which
cemetery would he have been buried in most likely???? He came over
with his parents - WHO were they??
and his wife, Caroline Meier (Meyer) b. 1832 in Hanover, Germany -
married J.F. in Dubois Co. 1851 - She also came from Germany with her
parents (around 1842 according to Census answers) WHO were they?
I can't find either family on the 1850 census but they MUST have been
in the area by that time........
Their son Gerhard Henrich Klosterman is my line - he married Rosina
Barbara Wolf in 1880 in Dubois - according to tradition she had been
sent for to marry a minister by her Aunt Rosina Propheter who was
living in Huntingburg (a widow who I think married him herself (Jacob
Hummel) . . .. well, at least my Rosina didn't marry a minister.
Any details? Any idea where Caroline is buried? or Rosina Propheter
Hummel?
THANK YOU
Amanda
