Another thought on replacing a stone-- contact Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home
at Jasper (812-482-4141. Rosie Stewart, the archivist at the court
house would probably know-- 812-481-7091. I recently put a stone on my
half-brother (d. 1934) buried at Evansville, he did not have a stone. I
called the cemetery there to find the proper procedure, they told me it
would be no problem, but the person doing the stone work had to be on their
approved list. I was going through Schum Monuments of Dale and he was on
their list. You might even give Schum a call --812-937-4921. They
are a family business and have been in the business for many, many years,
and are very good. I was very pleased. You might have to visit the
place once, or they might be able to do it via computers. They do a
sketch for you before anything is set in stone, and you have to approve
before they will work on it. Good Luck

I was at Main Cemetery on Memorial Day and noted that Obediah Taylor's
gravestone has been replaced. I am interested in replacing stones too
and would like to know how one gets permission to make this change. Who
is taking responsibility for this cemetery? Carol Hemmerlein Blohm
