Glad to see this new list up for Dubois Co. I am researching my KELSO
ancestors. The family moved from Spartanburg, South Carolina to the
Dubois/Daviess co. area of Indiana in the early 1800's. They settled along
the county line.
My ancestor Samuel m. Dorcas FOSTER in Daviess Co. on 16 Oct. 1819. They
left Indiana in abt. 1835 and moved first to Hancock, Co. Ill and then to
Grundy Co. Mo. in 1837. The Grundy County history books list the birthplace
for most of the children as Dubois Co. IN, so they must have lived in that
county after their marriage. Dorcas' father, Henry Foster, moved with them
but I have not been able to determine the father of Samuel. My guess is John,
but can find no document to substantiate that.
Any help would be appreciated.
