Hello Jeanne,
The following information is from Ferdinand, Indiana A Sesquicentennial
History
From the Ferdinand Historical Society. I have another book that has
several
references to Marendt's. This book is called Ferdinand, Indiana
1840-1940 A
Bit of Cultural History. You may want to purchase this book since it is so
inexpensive. The cost was only $9.00 for a soft bound book with 335 pages. It
can be purchased from Ferdinand Historical Society P.O. Box 194
Ferdinand, Indiana 47532. It seems that Marendt isn't a common name and it
may be likely that these stories are on your ancestors. My family from
Ferdinand is Durchholz and I'm finally getting very close to connecting ALL
the families. Here is some of the info I found. There is more info on
Hoffmans, but I found nothing on Peter. If you have any other specific
Hoffman names you would like me to look up just let me know.
Good Luck,
Betsy

<< Thanks! I do have one line that may be buried in Ferdinand-the Marendts
(they married into the Hoffmann family, c1860). Specifically, Mary Marendt
Hoffmann, m.Peter Hoffmann. Thanks ever so much, let me know if you ever
need a look-up in Indy-Jeanne
