Dubois County Indiana is named for Captain Toussaint Dubois Sr., a
native of France. He died March 11 1816
while trying to cross the Little Wabach river in Clay County, Illinois,
not far from the Vinennes. His horse was loaded with gold and silver
money, they were pulled
