Thanks

A 412 page, hard cover, "Wilson's History of Dubois County" History of
Dubois
County from its Primitive Days to 1910. By Geo. R. Wilson. I recall paying
around $35-$39 for it.
The book goes into every aspect of Dubois County, origin, local geology,
Indian titles & original surveys, the pioneers of Dubois co., their lives,
pastimes, sports, their ways & customs, incidents of pioneer days, pioneer
highways & means of transportation, why Jasper became CO seat, real estate
owners up to 1831, Educational work in Dubois Co., A great deal of church
history, every denomination, where & when churches were formed, names of
members and ministers, Dubois County courts, officials and quasi-officials
for one hundred years, the military history of Dubois Co., detailed town and
township history of the county, Dubois County, its modern, political,
social,
fraternal and commercial life (remember this was written in 1910), list of
one hundred and forty-three illustrations, many, many biographies of
citizens.
I found my GG Grandfather, David G. Brown, listed with men who served with
the United States Mounted Rangers, Ft McDonald, 1813, Dubois Co., this was
time of the war of 1812. I also found where he was served as coroner and
fence watcher for two terms in the 1820s, (fence watchers looked after needs
of the poor)'
Please go to my recently created web site and look at the Brown history I
have been able to locate in Dubois Co. Address below.
